Course Overview:

If you are your utility’s staff photographer, whether officially or not, then you’ve had to shoot portraits at one time or another, and you will likely have to shoot more in the future. But how do you make your portraits stand out so they don’t all look bland, badly lit, and uncomfortable? Come to this half-day workshop to learn some quick and easy tips and tricks. Renowned, award-winning photographer Dave LaBelle will be travelling to Sacramento to teach a handful of easy and cost-efficient techniques to take better portraits for your print and digital publications. LaBelle promises that you don’t need to create a giant studio to create fantastic portraits – he says you really only need one light and one reflector to make portrait magic regardless if you are inside the office or out in the direct sun. Because this is a hands-on workshop, seating is limited to 20 attendees, so sign up now!

What to Bring:

LaBelle invites everyone to bring a few photos on a jump drive to the workshop because if there is time at the end of the session, he will critique photos from attendees and offer advice.
